Together with iOS 17, an update was also presented today for the Apple tablet computer system.
Widgets have finally become interactive. You can now make changes and run commands directly from the home screen without launching the application itself.
As on the iPhone, the lock screen can now be personalized: select the appropriate photo, adjust the font for displaying the date and time, add suitable widgets.
Live Activities have also been added to the lock screen — and now it will finally be possible to track multiple timers simultaneously on the tablet.
As expected, iPadOS 17 introduced the Health app for iPad. It will show interactive graphs about the user's health status. Developers will get access to HealthKit for iPad.
Another change affected working with PDF. Now this format is supported in "Notes", you can add annotations with Apple Pencil without leaving the application.
The iPad will also be able to use autofill in PDF files - including documents added by scanning with the camera.
The Freeform app will get new drawing tools and an additional mode for collaboration.
iPadOS 17 is expected to be released in the fall along with iOS 17. The list of compatible devices has not yet been disclosed.
