NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, takes place annually in November. The task of the participants is to write 50,000 words within a month. It doesn't matter what it will be: a fantasy novel, a collection of short stories or non-fiction. Let your imagination run wild and just write. Participants do not edit their work.
This approach will help to kill the inner critic. You will write quickly, you will make mistakes, but eventually you will gain creative freedom. If you dream of writing something, but doubt your abilities or are looking for excuses - get ready for NaNoWriMo in November.
In the meantime, take part in another competition. It's called #InstaWrimo.
Take your favorite camera or smartphone, take photos and post them on Instagram*.
The organizers believe that this is a great opportunity for participants to reflect on writing habits and tools.
There are no strict rules, you can take pictures of anything. However, the organizers recommend using the tips that can be found on the website. In this case, you can not only have fun, but also take a different look at how you write.
InstaWrimo runs from March 1st to March 31st. This means that you can already start taking pictures. Don't worry about missing a few days. The organizers do not set a strict time frame for the publication of works. The main thing is that you have fun. And don't forget to add the hashtag #InstaWrimo to your work.
