The Instagram*Stories feature is getting its second major update in the last few weeks. Last time there was a Boomerang mode — the ability to mark friends on photos, as well as share links.
Now you can broadcast live videos in Stories. To do this, just tap on one button. In order not to broadcast into the void, users will be able to configure notifications about the start of the broadcast for their followers. During the viewing, viewers have the opportunity to communicate with the author of the stream, as well as among themselves through comments. Separately, it should be noted that broadcasts disappear immediately after completion. Thus, Instagram* wins the title of the most ephemeral platform for online streaming.
Another new Instagram feature* is disappearing messages. This feature is almost completely copied from Snapchat and is also available in the "Stories" section. Ephemeral messages may contain text, photos or videos that will disappear after the first viewing. As addressees, you can select both an individual subscriber and a group.
At the moment, the new features are available only to some Instagram* users on iOS and Android, but they should be open to everyone within a few weeks.
