A dog named Zoey from the US state of Louisiana is officially recognized as the owner of the longest tongue among living dogs — 12.7 cm. The record was recorded by veterinarians and representatives of the Guinness Book of Records.
The previous record belonged to the dog Bisbee of the Setter breed with a tongue of 9.49 cm. Zoey is a cross between a Labrador and a German Shepherd.
Her owners, Sadie and Drew Williams, took the dog when she was six weeks old. As a child, Zoya's tongue often stuck out of her mouth. The owners thought that she would grow up and everything would fall into place, but nothing changed over time. Passers—by often commented, "what a long tongue your dog has," the owners added. From time to time, when we take her for a walk, people come up to her and want to pet her. We warn them in advance: "Hey, she's friendly, but she can drool on you," and from time to time she will do it, and they will have a big saliva mark on their black trousers.
Zoey loves to walk in the fresh air, bring balls, chase squirrels, ride a car and swim. But at the same time she hates taking a bath. Fortunately, a big tongue does not prevent her from enjoying life.
