The director of "Flash" Andres Musketti spoiled one of the main cameos in the film — in an interview with Esquire Middle East, he announced the appearance of Nicolas Cage in a cameo role. The actor will play Superman.
I've dreamed of working with him all my life. I hope to be able to do it again soon. He's a big fan of Superman. A real comic book fanatic.
The director added that Cage's role is episodic, but the actor plunged into it with his head. It will probably be possible to see the hero in one of the universes where Barry Allen will get to before meeting Batman Keaton and Supergirl, played by Sasha Kalle. You can see them in the fresh trailer of the picture.
The appearance of Nicolas Cage in this film will be very symbolic. After all, the actor is a very devoted fan of the Kryptonian hero. For a while he owned one of the best copies of the first issue of Action Comics in 1938, where Superman was introduced for the first time. Even his son, born in 2005, Cage called Kal-El Superman's name is on his home planet Krypton. .
In the late 1990s, Nicholas could play Superman in a Tim Burton movie based on a script by Kevin Smith. But the tape was canceled shortly before the start of filming. Cage only managed to try on a suit.
The actor talked about his disappointment in connection with the cancellation of the project:
He was more of a 1980s Superman, with long black samurai hair. I thought it would be a completely different, kind of emo Superman, but we never got to that.
It will be possible to see Cage in the image of Superman in June. "Flash" starts at the worldwide box office on June 16. And judging by the first reviews, it will be a real hit.
