The updated interface will display weather, calendar appointments and other notifications. These widgets will be displayed on a dark background and with bright text when the smartphone is locked and lies horizontally, screen up. Thus, developers want to make the phone useful even when it is just lying on the table.
According to Gurman, the Cupertino company plans to introduce this option in the iPad. A charging magnetic stand is also being developed for the tablet, like the Google Pixel Tablet.
After installing the gadget on the dock, its display can be configured to display various smart home controls or used as a digital photo frame.
Apple is expected to introduce a new feature and stand for iPad at The World Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.
