Russians most often listen to music through a smartphone or car speakers (32% for each method), and 21% of users choose external audio systems. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to a study by Rambler & Co and the audio service "Sound". 370 thousand people participated in the survey.
In fourth and fifth places in popularity are laptop speakers (8%) and portable speakers (7%). Here are some more conclusions from the study:
- A quarter of respondents turn on music during household chores, 12% listen to it just in the background. They are less likely to turn on headphones on public transport (10%), at work (7%), before going to bed (6%), on foot (5%) and during sports (3%).
- 44% of respondents listen to mood selections from audio services, a third rely on their own playlists. The rest are looking for specific artists (12%) and albums (9%), and 8% rely entirely on the recommendation system.
- 46% listen to music through apps, 30% through the mobile version of the site, 15% through the desktop, and 9% immediately turn on the smart speaker.
- In addition to music, radio was named the most popular format (57%), audiobooks (17%), concerts (15%), podcasts (8%) and audio performances (3%) are also listened to.
