The legendary "Top Gun" franchise will have a third film. The picture is already in development by Paramount studio, and Tom Cruise, of course, is in business. This is reported by ‘Top Gun 3’ in the Works at Paramount THR.
Co-author of the script "Top Gun: Maverick" Ehren Krueger is already working on the script for the third part, and Joseph Kosinski may return to the director's chair. The creators of the film also hope to attract actors from the second part — Miles Teller and Glen Powell.
The development of the triquel was announced a few days after Warner Bros. Discovery announced that Tom Cruise has signed a contract to participate in the filming and production of films for the WB. As part of this agreement, the actor can continue the action movie "The Edge of the Future".
In the meantime, Cruz is busy with the next film in the "Mission Impossible" series, which will be a sequel to "Deadly Reckoning" — the release of this picture will take place in May 2025.
