HBO has released a new trailer for the musical drama "Idol", which will premiere in less than a week. Starring Lily-Rose Depp and singer Abel Tesfaye, better known under the pseudonym The Weeknd.
The plot tells about a young pop star and a charismatic owner of a nightclub in Los Angeles, who also turns out to be the leader of a religious cult. The director and screenwriter of the project is the creator of "Euphoria " Sam Levinson. There will be six episodes in total.
Earlier it was reported that the main soundtrack to the series was recorded by Madonna and The Weeknd. Their collaboration should be released on the day of the show's premiere.
By the way, critics defeated "Idol" after the premiere of the first series on The Cannes Film Festival. Some of them noted that it looks more like porn than a TV series. On Rotten Tomatoes the drama has 27% "freshness" based on 15 reviews.
The series starts on June 4 on HBO.
