By the World Video Game Day (it is celebrated on May 24), QIWI conducted a survey among Russian gamers to find out their gaming preferences and financial habits. A total of 1,501 respondents aged 14 to 60 years were interviewed.
It turned out that the average gamer in Russia is a man with a higher education and an average income, married and with children. He has been playing every day after work for 5 years or more, this allows him to relieve emotional stress. He spends no more than a thousand rubles a month on games, pays for them through electronic wallets. He did not encounter difficulties due to games, and his relatives treat his hobby neutrally.
On weekdays, most of the survey participants play for less than two hours, but on weekends half of the respondents regularly play for more than 5 hours. People aged 14-24 spend significantly more time on games: a third of them play for at least 3 hours even on weekdays.
At the same time, 32% of respondents began to play more over the past year. This was most often noted by young men (14-24 years old) and women (18-24 years old). 22%, on the contrary, play less, and 43% of habits have not changed.
And how much time do you spend playing games? Have you started playing more in the last year? Tell us in the comments!
