Gmail for iPhone and iPad has learned how to quickly unsubscribe from mailings

Gmail on iOS and iPadOS received The Gmail app now gives you an even faster way to unsubscribe (on iOS) / Android Authority new feature: quick unsubscribe for newsletters. If earlier you had to scroll down the letters in search of the right button or open the context menu, now the "Unsubscribe from mailing list" button is located to the right of the sender's name.

If you click on this button, the mail will ask you to confirm that you really want to unsubscribe — this is protection from accidental touches. In some cases, you will have to go to the sender's website to unsubscribe (if it does not support unsubscribing in email clients).

The feature is spreading gradually and may not be available to all users yet. If you do not have a new button yet, but the "Unsubscribe from mailing list" function is available in the context menu, you will have to wait a little. You can also check if you have the quick unsubscribe feature disabled in the mail client. To do this:

  1. In the settings, open the Folder Settings sectionInbox"" → "Tips in the mail".
  2. Make sure that the "Suggest unsubscribing" option has the slider in the active position.

If everything is turned on, you can only wait — just like Android users. However, this option is indicated on the Gmail technical support site Block or unsubscribe from emails / Gmail Help for iPhone, iPad and Android, so you probably won't have to wait long.
