It seems that Apple has finally solved the jailbreak problem and now it is easy to "hack" the iPhone 3GS in order to gain access to the file system of the device, which makes it possible to install applications not approved by Apple into it, it will not be possible. This is being vied with each other on the Web, in particular, on the websites of AppleInsider, MacWorld and others. In all new iPhone 3GS phones, the firmware of the BootROM chip has been updated to version iBoot-359.32. So the new communicators are now not susceptible to hacking using the Dev Team exploit.
One of the Dev Team members reported that this is the first time Apple has updated BootROM in the midst of product production, even without updating the hardware platform.
Naturally, such an "upgrade" will prevent the unlocking of the modem blocked to work with a certain iPhone 3GS operator, which also does not add enthusiasm to some categories of users. An interesting fact is that the iPhone 3GS with the new BootROM entered the market immediately after the release by the Dev Team of the updated version of the iPhone jailbreak utility PwnageTool 3.1.4, which coped even with the latest firmware version 3.1.2. For owners of iPhone 3GS with the old version of BootROM, you can only rejoice, and the rest were unlucky. On the other hand, practice proves that almost everything is hacked and, perhaps, after a while there will be a new exploit.
