After a rather long break, I went back to the sports club and there I fully felt the "charms" of sitting down. Despite the fact that I walk with my child quite a lot, I still spend most of my time sitting at the computer. And it was only during training that I felt my back ache, how much it had become "wooden". I am generally silent about the hands.
And, as always, the universe heard my moans and threw an interesting article by Gina Trapani about working at a computer standing up.Gina Trapani is a technical writer and web developer who spends most of her working time sitting at a computer. In her article on Smarterware, she talks about how she switched to working at a computer standing up.
As has long been known, when sitting at a table for a long time in the lower part of the trunk, blood circulation is disrupted, women may have problems with the veins on their legs (especially in the "leg on leg" pose), and the work of the pelvic organs is disrupted. None of us sit at the table perfectly correctly, so in addition to everything, the back and neck suffer. And the back is our "head" for all organs. From the outside, we look like vultures sitting at a table — the neck is stretched forward, the back is often hunched, the legs swell, the butt takes the shape of a chair.
Gina redesigned her desk so that she could work standing at it.
At first she worked standing up for several hours, and then sat down again. My legs hurt, my back and neck too. But gradually the body was rebuilt, the posture was corrected. Plus, working standing up, we also burn extra calories.
But here I would like to make a small remark. The fact is that working standing up all the time is also not very useful. For example, hairdressers quite often have problems with their legs due to the fact that they spend the whole day on their feet. As well as those who stand behind the counter almost all their working day. Therefore, in my opinion, the ideal workplace is when you can alternate standing and sitting work behind it. Firstly, it is useful for the health of the back and legs, and secondly, it allows you to switch the brain and burn calories.
Sergey Petrenko also has a miracle table with an adjustable tabletop height. He alternates standing work with sitting work and so far, apparently, is satisfied.

Especially advanced people work at a computer not standing up, but on a treadmill. But for me personally, this is an almost impossible task.
Working at a computer standing up is quite an interesting experience. But what is more interesting is how many people will decide on it and what the results will be.
