How to prevent a headache

The headache catches us by surprise. It would seem that I didn't overwork, and didn't drink, but my head still starts to hurt (and there are also those who are predisposed to migraines). There are some very simple but effective rules that will save you from a sudden headache forever.

Get ready to rest in advance

Yes, rest is also a very important period of your day, and when it should come, you should already be ready for it. For the whole day you get a lot of information. Even if you think that the day was boring, unsuccessful, your brain has its own opinion on this. From wakefulness to sleep, the inhibition phase should lead – the period during which you switch your attention from tasks that have been bothering you all day to something more neutral. Watch a light movie, read a book, drink a cup of green tea – relax. When it's time to sleep, you'll already have one foot in the realm of Morpheus. In the morning, the body will thank you — it will be cheerful and full of energy.

Do exercises

For the whole day we take a lot of uncomfortable poses. Muscles get tired, blood stagnates, carbon dioxide accumulates, the brain is less supplied with oxygen. The consequences are clear – a headache. Get up and do some exercises! Better right now! There is no need for any over-exercises, it is enough to bend slightly and bow down. The age–old misconception that you need to do exercises in the morning, leave - a quiet evening warm-up before going to bed can be more useful. Light physical activity will improve blood flow, eliminate fatigue, improve well-being, you will sleep like a baby.

Take breaks from work

Everyone who works at a computer has long known the benefits of regular breaks. With constant tension in the blood, the content of hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline increases, which lead to a decrease in sugar levels. And what does our brain eat? That's right, sugar, that's why prolonged stress and hard work “discharge” the batteries of the brain, as a result, it gives us unambiguous signals in the form of little men hammering nails in the head. A five-minute break every hour and a half will permanently save you from one of the causes of headaches.

Don't just take a break – have a snack once!

A small, light sandwich, a cup of coffee in the morning and tea after lunch will help fill the carbohydrate bottom created by intensive work. As a result, the brain will receive the necessary portion of “fast” carbohydrates. Just do not eat “synthetic” food, as some dietary supplements reduce the conductivity of electrical impulses in nerve fibers, thereby provoking migraines. Eat food of natural origin that has been pre-processed as little as possible.

Drink

Liquid is the basis of our body, and the shortage of only 300 grams of water in an adult causes severe thirst. Lack of fluid leads to at least a headache, so drink. Do not allow thirst, because it is already an alarm signal that your body sends you. A regular on the table should be a bottle of plain water (possible options: juice, tea, juice, kvass, compote).

Posture

All diseases come from the spine. In all ages, doctors have argued that special attention should be paid to the spine, because it is the main frame that can withstand the weight of our body all our lives, it is also the keeper of the largest nerve plexus that coordinates the work of all parts and organs of the body – the spinal cord. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the correct posture. This is not only the ability to keep your back properly, but a well-chosen table, chair, shoes, clothes, the angle of the monitor, the location of the workplace relative to lighting sources and aisles. That's why I've always claimed that computer desks (do you know those with sliding panels for the keyboard?) – evil, and the harm from them is much greater than the benefits and convenience. In addition, posture is directly related to blood circulation, on which the work of the brain depends. And what do all the nerves from the brain go through? The spinal cord begins in the head, and passes through the neck, do not forget about it.

Daily routine

If you regularly knock down the daily routine, which your body also regularly tries to instill in you, then as a result of this confrontation you will get a headache. This is due to violations of natural sleep cycles, which you also obey (yes, you are not superman, nature is stronger). You can read about how to go to bed correctly in these articles:

  • A few rules for a good sleep
  • How to overcome insomnia without pills

I am becoming more and more convinced that following a simple daily routine can save you from a lot of problems forever. The simplest rule that will help to automatically maintain the daily routine is to always get up at the same time.

Do you have any secrets about this?
