We often write about the positive effect of running on health and it's really true. However, it is impossible not to recall the difficulties that may lie in wait for you. One of the most important enemies of any runner is banal boredom.

Injuries pass, fatigue can be defeated, but boredom creeps up unnoticed and insidiously can spoil all the fun. Performing for a long time in general monotonous monotonous movements without any entertainment is for many a more serious problem than fatigue or lack of time. For this reason, some runners slow down their progress or may stop running altogether. Today we want to introduce you to several ways to overcome boredom during running workouts.

Add speed!

If you get bored at your usual distance, then the best way out is to increase your running speed. Agree that when you move faster, almost at the limit, then there is no need to talk about boredom. Your body and your brain, faced with a new more difficult task, will forget about boredom for a long time.

Listen to music

Good music in your headphones not only banishes boredom, but can also significantly improve your results. Numerous studies have proven that music has an excellent motivating effect, blocking signals of fatigue, weakness and boredom in your brain. Create a mix of your favorite songs or try the tips from this article — the results will not keep you waiting.

Count

Boredom is the idleness of the brain, so try to load it with useful work. Do calculations of the distance traveled and the remaining distance, the time spent, or, for example, the pace of movement. It's really distracting sometimes.

Try doing it together

Even if you prefer single runs, it's still worth running in pleasant company from time to time. This is a great way to dispel boredom and have some fun, especially if your partner likes to talk. During a conversation on an interesting topic, you will be surprised how quickly the training ended.

Preparation for competitions

It doesn't matter if it's a marathon or a three-kilometer race, just choose a goal that is ambitious enough for you and sign up to participate in the competition. After that, develop a training plan and start purposefully preparing for the race. A big goal set before you, along with a specific plan to achieve it, is a great way to give your workouts a second wind.

Compete

Even if it's not a race, but a regular training session, you can always add an element of competition. Choose a runner running ahead of you and try to catch up with him. If you work out on a treadmill, then try to do it faster than your neighbor. Competitions are great fun and, of course, there is no time for boredom!

Change the route

Try to find new pleasant places in your area, plot a route along new streets and paths, at least start running in the opposite direction if you train at the stadium. You won't believe how much it can refresh your jogging experience. And if you find yourself in a really unfamiliar area or your route will contain obstacles, then there will certainly be no time for boredom.

Try interval running

A long monotonous load can really put you to sleep. Try to cheer up with interval running, that is, alternating intervals at different speeds. For example, after a 10-minute warm-up stretch, accelerate for 1 minute, then a few minutes at a moderate speed, then again a 1-minute acceleration, and so on. It will not only help your brain to ward off boredom, but it is also very useful for the body.

And what ways do you use to fight boredom while running? Maybe you have your own proven method that you can share with readers?
