RECIPES: Pomegranate-orange fresh

The deficiency of vitamins and the sun with the approach of spring began to be felt more and more. And it so happened that we succumbed to a cold. In order not to leave the disease a single chance to continue the banquets, we decided to resort to a powerful vitamin bomb and remembered about our trip to Istanbul and at the same time about our favorite juice, which not only contains a huge amount of vitamin C and increases hemoglobin, but also quickly copes with pre-spring melancholy!

I remember the trip to Istanbul not only because of the breathtaking city, the sea and the people, but also because of the smiling sellers of fresh juices standing on almost every corner in the central part of the city. Orange, pomegranate, grapefruit, carrot, kiwi, strawberry or a mix — the eyes ran away from the choice. Pomegranate has become a favorite, since pomegranates are sweet as honey there.

Returning to Kiev, the first thing we did was to go in search of a citrus press. Although in fact, it is most convenient to squeeze juice from pomegranates with this press. So a standard juicer turns pomegranate into a brown mixture with a bitter taste of seeds.

In our house lives such a simple Vitesse press (France). It cost a little less than $30. The choice of such pieces is simply huge, as is the price range — starting from a simple one for $ 30 and ending with $ 200-$ 300. Our press is already two years old and it has fully recouped its cost.

How does it work? You just cut oranges and pomegranates in half, put the pulp on the ledge of a special bowl and press. Oranges and pomegranates should not be very large, otherwise it will be very difficult to press.

We first crush one half of the oranges, and then, when they are already half empty, we put one on top of the other and press again — so it turns out 1.5 times more juice. Although it is called a citrus press, but in fact it solves the problem of squeezing juice from pomegranate, plus it turns out pretty good juices with pulp (strawberry), kiwi puree and even sometimes tomato juice with pulp from fresh tomatoes for spaghetti.

My favorite ratio is — 4 small oranges and 1 pomegranate. It turns out very tasty and healthy! The main thing is to choose that the oranges are sweet — they cover the acid of the pomegranate (if they are not very sweet).

Your health and don't get sick! Spring is coming soon ;)
