The other day I was thinking about the question: what expenses do we actually incur when we buy a car? Often, when we think about buying a car, we only remember about its price, forgetting about many other expenses.
As if to confirm my thoughts, several of my friends recently got a new job. Surprisingly, each of them then thought about changing the car: "it's no longer prestigious to drive the old one", "it's too small", "the engine doesn't pull on the track" + a couple of other reasons to do this. But everyone was talking only about the price of a new car. And not once about future expenses.
I decided to calculate how much it costs to service even such a small car as the 2007 Chevrolet Spark, with a volume of only 0.8 liters.
I must say, the result was amazing. For 3 years of owning a baby Chevrolet Spark runs:
These expenses include (the share of specific expenses in the total amount is indicated in parentheses):
Details — in the file in the application. And this is without the cost of accidents (ugh-ugh), fines, serious breakdowns (gearbox, for example, and if it is not guaranteed), installation of alarms and other accessories.
I wonder how much it costs to service your car? Try to count for yourself! The form is in the application.
Think about it – won't these costs be too big for you? Maybe it's better to invest and make a profit from them? It's up to you, but at least — do not make large purchases without calculating them. It is unpleasant to find yourself in a situation where it is difficult to maintain the previous level of expenses.
P.S. The bonus is an old picture in the subject:
