Not so long ago, a demo version of the Spore project was released, a game that numerous fans have been waiting for for years. No, no need to remember the "stalker" with the Dukes of Nukem, they have nothing to do with it ... I digress :)
So, the idea is grandiose. We will have no less than to create our own civilization, tracing its path from the simplest single-celled individual to going into space. There is no such splendor in the demo version, but there is a lot more ... Spore Creature Creator is a demo version of the application for creating your own creatures. It's so simple: we take the trunk, change the proportions, size, add arms-legs-heads in any quantity at will, place eyes, ears, wings, horns and hooves and get an unknown animal with a certain set of skills. Immediately, the animal can be painted or viewed "in action", forcing it to sing, dance or bite. Such is the Tamagotchi of the 21st century.
The trick is that even with a limited set of "details" included in the constructor, you can create a huge number of dissimilar individuals, the benefit of the creature editor is easy to learn and does not limit the flight of a sick fantasy. Actually, even if the future game does not interest you at all, try to tinker with your own animals, this process is incredibly addictive. The developers will not bypass the social aspect either: with the help of simple actions, the results of efforts can be uploaded to the Spore server, recorded and posted on Youtube, or make an avatar for yourself.
After tinkering with the constructor for a couple of days, I authoritatively declare that it is incredibly interesting even by itself, so you can already sign up for the game, fortunately everything looks very, very tempting.
Great news for MacBook owners: despite the excellent graphics, the game goes great on typewriters with integrated GMA 3100, older accelerator models are not supported. However, the craftsmen with TUAW have found a way to launch the game on an older hardware.
P.S.: the game considers the Russian language to be native, which is doubly pleasing :)
