Mikhail Ivanov, the head of the publishing house "Mann, Ivanov and Ferber", is not only an interesting and intelligent person. For him, the words "running", "triathlon", Ironman are not an empty sound, but a lifelong hobby.
Despite his workload, Mikhail found time to answer our questions about running briefly, clearly and to the point :)
— How long have you started running?
— 15 years ago and since then I have been running regularly. Since last year, I began to prepare systematically and participate in competitions.
— The reason why you started running?
— I like to run. This allows you to switch from turnover and then the unpleasant emotions accumulated during the day go away.
— What were the first feelings after jogging and when did you realize that running is your sport? What do you think about while jogging?
— While running, I often get new ideas that I write down as soon as I get home.
— Have you participated in marathons? In which ones and what were the feelings after their completion?
— Yes, in the Kiev marathon in 2010. Pride. 40% of the participants got off at this marathon. It was hilly.
— Which competition was the most difficult for you?
— European Half-Ironman Championship (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and half marathon) in Germany in August 2011. At the running stage, my legs began to cramp a lot.
— Do you set specific goals or do you run just for the soul and maintaining good physical shape?
— Now for me running is part of a triathlon. I have goals for this and next season. This season, on November 13, I will run my 2nd marathon from Marathon to Athens.
— Do you have any favorite places to run?
— I'm running along the bank of the Moscow Canal. I like to overtake barges going through the water.
—What books about running would you recommend to our readers?
— What would you advise novice runners?
— Run regularly, register for a beautiful start, so that there is something to strive for.
— Gadgets, clothes, shoes — what do you use?
I run with a Garmin 310 GPS watch in Newton sneakers. I used to run with Nike+.
