An interesting book from the father of positive psychology about how to achieve happiness — the pleasure of life in it is laid out on the shelves in an almost mathematical way.
Generally speaking, books about happiness and how to achieve it are one of the most popular psychological genres. It's harder not to buy such a book than to buy it, so Seligman's book had a special attitude — it, of course, had to be the coolest of all. And she almost did it.
Martin Seligman is a well-known American psychologist, a preacher of positive psychology and a propagator of the theory that a person's happiness and his optimistic attitude in life are things that depend on him. And in order to start influencing happiness, it's enough just to understand a little theory and believe in yourself.
The book is written in a pleasant, « readable » language — many people will definitely like flashbacks from Martin's life (a kind of examples illustrating certain details of the narrative). Seligman sometimes overdoes it a little (especially noticeable how he « failed » the end of the book), but it almost does not affect the interest and usefulness of the book. And I also didn't like the format «In search of happiness» — it's a little short (what else can you forgive for a good concentration of ideas on one page of the book), but I can't forgive the lack of a branded bookmark for anything!
Happiness cannot be found in Google (you don't have to look, I tried), it can only be found in yourself. And Seligman's book will definitely help in this. No one will give you an exact recipe for happiness, but here are a lot of interesting details about yourself you will definitely learn. We boldly advise.
