How to insert a video file into a blog without using a third-party video hosting

Embedding a video using the same YouTube in your blog is very convenient - you just take a video of any format, upload it to YouTube and, having received the embed code, simply post it at home. However, there are a lot of reasons and arguments that speak against such a decision - video compression with loss of quality by video hosting, the inability to particularly influence the type of player, and many others.

The build model is a website where you can build your own Flash player to play any FLV file hosted both on your hosting and somewhere on the Internet. You can assemble not only a video player, but also an MP3 player and insert it into a blog.

In addition to the player itself, which is loaded into your blog from the site of the "hellip;" model, you can download this player to yourself and use a completely autonomous solution on your resource.

When assembling the player on the site, the following input data is needed:

  • direct link to the FLV file;
  • the path to the player, if you have it locally, if on «Models…», then do not change this field;
  • link to the image that will be on the player before the start of video playback;

…and the following parameters can be configured:

  • the inscription on the video;
  • player size and aspect ratio, 4:3 or 16:9;
  • the background color of the site, the video and the frame;
  • rounded or right angles;
  • enable or disable indicators of brightness settings and color parameters;
  • default sound volume;
  • autorun is enabled or disabled;
  • showing or hiding navigation buttons.

The most important thing is to be careful with traffic, which can seriously grow from your site, especially if other bloggers can insert the video on their blogs :) — it will not pull everything from YouTube, which has a lot of resources, but from you.
