1. Ability to control emotions

Analyze the triggers of emotions

Start writing down what causes you to have a negative reaction. Then think about why exactly these things or situations affect you so much. Maybe they are connected with an important event in your life or with one topic that excites you. By understanding your triggers, you will be able to recognize them in time and not react to them blindly.

Collect feedback

Regularly ask for feedback from the people you work with. It is not necessary to arrange a large questionnaire, a couple of simple questions are enough. This will train you to be open to criticism and ready to work on yourself.

Change your reaction

Although expressing your frustration or irritation is not the worst sin of a leader, it can demotivate the team. Therefore, before pouring out emotions, take a deep breath. Think about what intention is behind your reaction, and express it, not the negative.

2. Psychological stability

Look for the positives

Do not get hung up on the negative, consider any situation from the point of view of new opportunities. For example, you wanted to strengthen the team, and suddenly you had to transfer everyone to remote work. Do not abandon plans, but look for ways to rally employees in new conditions.

Train your growth mindset

With him, failures are perceived as opportunities for development. So when something goes wrong, immediately think about and discuss with others what you can do to prevent this from happening again in the future.

Concentrate on what is in your power

We can't control a lot of things in life: the weather, the economic situation, the opinions of other people. It's better not to waste time worrying about it, but to focus on what you can change for the better.

Make backup plans

Remind yourself that circumstances may change, and try to always have a plan B in stock, and better yet, a plan B.

3. Integrity

Maintain your reputation

In many ways, she serves as an example for those with whom you interact. If you are not sure if you have a good reputation, ask your surroundings to identify what you need to work on.

Be consistent

Stick to your values and beliefs in all aspects of life. You personally will be more comfortable, and others will know what to expect from you.

Admit your mistakes

It's scary, but this behavior will help others see you as a living person and strengthen their trust in you. It will also give others the opportunity to learn something from your experience.

Remember about empathy

Your employees have a lot of responsibilities and problems besides the workers. Do not forget to find out about the well-being of colleagues and show compassion.

4. Adaptability

Change processes that don't work

Life changes very quickly, and it's not worth continuing to do something just because it's always been done. Think about how it can be improved, and adjust to the current conditions.

Be open to new ideas

Don't cling to one thing, study different options. And don't throw away the idea, even if at first glance it seems strange to you — give it a chance.

Get out of your comfort zone

Don't let your fears limit you. As you think about a decision, ask yourself what the worst can happen after it, and remind yourself that sometimes taking risks is useful.
