The Vivaldi browser, created in 2015 by the former CEO of Opera, has finally become available Vivaldi bites into the apple: Introducing Vivaldi for iOS / Vivaldi Blog on Apple mobile devices.
Considering that all browsers for iOS must run on the WebKit engine, the developers had to make an iPhone application almost from scratch. This explains the delay in the release of the iOS version, while the Android browser has been available since 2018.
Vivaldi for iOS offers a tab bar similar to the desktop version, so you can immediately see what else you have open. You can disable this feature and return to viewing a single page. The tab switcher gives you access to open, private, synchronized, and recently closed tabs. A long press on the tab switch will allow you to quickly open a new tab or close an active one.
As in other browsers, bookmarks are available on the home page for quick access to your favorite sites. You can add any pages to this section.
There is also a notepad and a reading list in the browser, and both sections are synchronized between all devices with the same Vivaldi account. Other functions include blocking advertising trackers, the ability to switch between search engines and change the application icon.
In parallel with the iPhone versions, the iPad browser was also released. It is distinguished by the presence of a sidebar that gives quick access to bookmarks, a reading list, browsing history and notes. The rest of the application features are identical.
