Google announced New performance and safety features are coming to Chrome / Google The Keyword three new features of the Chrome desktop browser that have started rolling out to all users.
Tab groups can be saved and synchronized: they can be viewed from any desktop device with a single account. The option can be configured individually for each group of tabs and choose what will be synchronized and what will remain on only one computer. This update will be gradually distributed to Chrome users over the coming weeks.
The browser now displays how much RAM each tab "eats up" — previously this feature was only tested. A forecast of RAM savings was also added to the public release when memory saving mode is turned on.
The third change is that the "Security check" now works not on request, but constantly and in the background. This feature checks the relevance of the Chrome version and the security of the extensions used, and also compares the data from the password manager with the latest leaks, suggesting which passwords should be replaced. In addition, the "Security check" can now be used to revoke permissions granted to sites (for example, to access a microphone or geolocation) if you have not visited them for a long time. Sites that often send notifications will also be displayed here — with a proposal to revoke this permission too.
Google also promised to improve the search engine next year thanks to its own Gemini AI model.
