Google has introduced a reading mode in Chrome. The option will appear in the desktop version of the browser before the end of this year, it is reported in the company's blog.
The "Reading Mode" button will appear on the original browser page. After it is activated, the content of the page will be displayed on the Chrome sidebar, where bookmarks and a reading list are usually displayed.
The width of this side screen can be adjusted. Text settings will also be available there — font, letter size, background color (light, dark, yellow, blue) and line spacing.
The function is designed to reduce distracting elements on the screen, such as images, videos and advertisements. When the Reading Mode is activated, as a rule, only text remains on the screen. The new feature will appear in the Chrome browser on Mac, Windows, Linux and in ChromeOS (version 114) before the end of the year.
