In April, Apple's Safari managed to bypass Microsoft Edge in the top desktop browsers. This became known from the next report by StatCounter analysts dedicated to the spread of browsers around the world.
As of April 2023, Safari's share in the global desktop browser market was 11.87%, while Edge's share was only 11%. But both are very far from Chrome with its 66.13%.
However, everything may change in the coming months, when the new chatbot Bing becomes available to more users.
It is noteworthy that the situation in Russia is significantly different from the world. Chrome is still the most popular, but it has 53.32% of the market. Its most serious competitors in the country are Yandex Browser (22.13%) and Opera (9.52%). Firefox has 5.47%, Edge - 5.14%, and Safari's share is only 3.67%.
