The Beeper Mini app has been released on Google Play. It allows Android users to chat with friends via iMessage without having to get an Apple ID or set up server access on macOS.
Beeper Mini converts user messages into recognizable blue text bubbles that all participants in the conversation will see. It also opens up all the possibilities of iMessage, including reactions, streams, high-resolution file sharing and group chats.
Unlike other services that relay messages via a server on a Mac or require logging in with an Apple ID, Beeper Mini registers the user in the system by phone number and sends all data directly to the Apple server. This ensures that no one has access to the messages or files being sent.
It is noteworthy that Beeper Mini is just an offshoot from the main startup Beeper, whose main goal is to combine all messaging platforms in one place. With it, users will be able to collect in one application all their chats from Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, iMessage and more — plus all SMS. The startup is led by Eric Migikowski, who already has an example of a successful launch — it was his company that blew up Kickstarter with the release of the Pebble Watch— the main smartwatch before the Apple Watch.
Beeper Mini can be downloaded from Google Play for free. You need a subscription to use it (it costs $ 2 per month), and a free trial period is valid for the first 7 days.
